Dusk

Within a disused retail unit, this installation produces an abstracted landscape stretching out before the viewer.

Referencing Blackpool as a coastal community that is framed by the sea (and the effects of light as the sun dips below the waterline), the work reimagines these natural elements in an unexpected context.

David Ogle

David Ogle (b. 1987) is an artist (working in drawing, sculpture and site-specific installation) based in Liverpool, UK. Ogle studied at Lancaster University (BA (hons), MA by research) and the University of Liverpool (PhD).

My work is increasingly focused upon our relationship to landscape and the fundamental visual forms that we find meaningful or resonant in nature. I want to refine and distil these elements, creating a heightened nature; imaginary utopias that people can view or temporarily inhabit.

I want to make things that envision new worlds, or create moments in which our own feels suddenly alien.
