I participated in Lightlab in 2023. Being part of the cohort was lots of fun – as a group we got valuable insights into how light festivals are curated and how artists have made work for them. As part of the process I pitched an idea for light festival artwork called Warren Street, which would involve projecting light-painted rabbits in urban spaces.
It was a unique experience to hear the pitches of other artists. The support of the programme enabled me to complete my piece, funding allowed me time to create the hundreds of light painting exposures I needed I was also supported with mentorship guidance from Pauline Brien which helped me clarify the concept and gave me regular checking in points.
Warren Street was showcased at Lightpool in 2024 and Nightfall in 2025, and I’m currently looking out for programming opportunities for 2026 and beyond.
