Blackpool’s renowned and award-winning Lightpool Festival is making a highly anticipated return this October half-term with a truly extraordinary array of free entertainment that promises to delight attendees of all ages.
The exciting programme, which will run from 15 October to 1 November, features a spectacular mix of stunning light installations, captivating live performances, and mesmerising 3D projection shows. This vibrant festival, which is completely free to access, is staged across a diverse range of both indoor and outdoor venues, allowing visitors to experience the magic of light in various engaging settings throughout the town.
We’re so excited to have you join us for the 2025 edition of Lightpool Festival. Over the next 18 nights, you’ll get to see our town’s most iconic landmarks sparkling with an amazing display of light installations, created by talented artists from all around the world.
This year’s festival has something for everyone! Enjoy 18 nights of excitement filled with stunning light art, captivating live performances, fun activities for the whole family, and incredible 3D projection shows. With an extraordinary collection of national and international light installations, and the debut of over 12 brand new artworks, this year’s event promises to be the most visually stunning Lightpool Festival yet!
Get ready to be enchanted as Carnival Magic returns to the Tower Ballroom, bringing a lively display of illuminated Carnival characters and enchanting music. Experience a thrilling mix of music, puppetry, fire and dance that will ignite your imagination as the amazing Global Grooves International Carnival performers light up the world-famous Tower Ballroom dance floor.
In 2025, with the incredible support of Arts Council England, we are thrilled to unveil our most ambitious community engagement initiative yet. We are nurturing over 40 talented artists in our vibrant artist development programmes and workshops, igniting the passion of young and emerging creatives to develop new skills and produce exciting light artworks.

Welcome to Lightpool Festival, an extraordinary event that combines art, light, culture and community.
The much-loved Festival is an important element of our events calendar, drawing a considerable number of visitors to Blackpool and enhancing the cultural landscape for our residents. Community engagement is a key part of the festival, local schools and community organisations are involved and engaged through projects with a diverse array of artists and local stakeholders.
The Festival features remarkable light installations crafted by skilled artists from around the world, alongside breath-taking projections and is designed to be enjoyed by everyone of all ages. As you wander along the art trail you will see our town’s landmarks and public spaces transformed!
