Hic Sunt Dracons (Here be Dragons!)

Drawing on Lancashire’s long held mystical traditions LLB has, for 2025, moved on from Donkeys and settled instead for Dragons !

His concept is the creation of 3 kind but scary guardian dragons that writhe on medieval turrets, using digital technology and some good old fashioned Blackpool magic each of the dragons comes to life and will communicate with the Blackpool Tower projection.

Experience the thrill as the vibrant dragons come to life, blinking, snarling, and puffing out smoke with confidence, as they engage in lively conversation with the iconic Blackpool Tower during the spectacular projection shows.

And that’s just the beginning! You can be part of the excitement too. Between the Tower Projections, simply scan the QR code on-site, select your dragon, and witness it burst into vibrant life, dancing majestically across the face of the Blackpool Tower in an unforgettable light and projection display.

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen is a classically trained fine artist with experience in both the public and private client design world. Although best known for his stints as a presenter on shows such as ‘Changing Rooms’ and ‘The Holiday Programme’ in the 90’s, LLB has been married to maximalism since he was a child.

His love of pattern and design accumulated during a Fine Art degree at Camberwell School of Arts (now a constituent college of the University of Arts London). This degree left LLB with a steady hand but a bigger ego… He took his new-found knowledge with him to a variety of design companies and TV shows before establishing Llewelyn-Bowen Design in 1998. Since then, pattern has remained the key component to every product, project and performance in LLB’s portfolio.
