Lightbox

The Old Electric is taking over an empty shop unit and converting it to a Lightbox for Lightpool!

We invite you to take part in a workshop to create your own shadow puppets inspired by Blackpool’s rich history of circus, carnival and spectacle, which will be brought to life and showcased as part of the Lightpool Festival

The Old Electric are running a project for all the family to get involved with and be part of the magic of Lightpool.

Come along and make shadow puppets with artist Janine Walker to build scenes from Blackpool of years gone by.

We invite people of all ages and abilities to take part in a workshop to create your own shadow puppets – from a simple sea lion to a more elaborate elephant…you’ll be supported to explore Blackpool’s heritage of circus, carnival and spectacle and create your own characters from card and coloured gels. Using a range of different techniques, we’ll bring your puppets to life and all stories will be projected onto the window of 4 Edward St during Lightpool Festival.
