Light Up The North have officially launched applications for their SPARK 2026 Programme, offering a unique opportunity for early-career creatives to learn and understand more about the exciting world of light festivals.
The programme is seeking three emerging artists and three early-career producers to take part. Participants will gain hands-on experience in areas such as research, planning, budgeting, commissioning, partnership development, audience engagement, and curating- key elements that underpin the delivery light festivals.
What’s on offer?
- A £300 bursary to support their participation
- Up to £600 for travel and accommodation to attend two light festivals from our network: Light Up Lancaster (5–7 November) and Light Night Wigan (20–22 November)
- Access to mentoring, talks, informal workshops, and networking opportunities
- Behind-the-scenes insight into festival planning and delivery
- A chance to join a supportive and relaxed peer network
