The Job
Over the past 3 years, the Creative Blackpool Delivery Group (CBDG) has been developing shared leadership for culture and place by leveraging the support, knowledge and capabilities of our cultural assets and cross sector partners to develop an ambitious vision for 2030 – that Blackpool will be recognised as the UK’s Coastal Capital of Creativity.
This has involved:
- establishing a steering group of representatives from across the cultural sector of the town;
- undertaking work on a needs analysis;
- collecting case studies on good practice already going on with our communities;
- collaborating and undertaking wide consultation to produce a Blackpool Cultural Strategy led by the cultural sector.
Our next step on this journey is to deliver an exciting and ambitious programme of strategic and joined up activities that support the delivery of our strategy. We have now successfully secured £750k Arts Council England (ACE) Place Partnership funding for the programme to match cash investment and support in kind from a wide range of partners. Blackpool’s cultural sector has a small number of leaders, so we wish to appoint a Partnership Director to lead and support the delivery of this programme over the next 2.5 years until autumn 2027.
The Partnership Director role is funded through the ACE grant and is fundamental to how Creative Blackpool continues to develop its approach going forward. The role will focus on delivering specific strands of our programme of work set out in our ACE bid with support from key Sub-Groups made up of partners in the network.
